Harry Schexnyder
Harry was the first inductee into the LGA Hall of Flame in 2001. He was selected for this honor in recognition of his many contributions over the life of the association, which have greatly contributed to its success.
Harry was a founding member of the association and has served on the board of directors for twenty years. He was the association's first treasurer and served as president in 1984. Harry was on the team that prepared the association's charter and wrote the original by-laws. He has served as the perpetual chairman of the by-laws committee ever since.
Harry has served as chairman of the education and training committee, the membership committee, the nominating committee, the convention committee, and the operator qualification subcommittee. In addition, he has worked on the advisory, budget, and codes & compliance committees.
Harry was the guiding force behind the development of the LGA website in 2000. Harry has worked for four different natural gas distribution companies during his 23 years with the LGA and has remained active in the association throughout his career.
Harry is currently employed by Atmos Energy Corporation as an employee development & safety coordinator in the Louisiana division's Metairie office. Harry attended Louisiana State University from 1956 through 1961 and majored in mechanical engineering.
