Robert Borne
Robert's LGA involvement began in the late 1970s at the request of the Office of Pipeline Safety as a presenter on conducting natural gas leak surveys, and his value to our association has grown steadily ever since. In 1994 he was appointed Marketing Committee Chairman where he led the effort to bring one of the National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Training programs to the Louisiana Technical College Campus in Baton Rouge. Robert has served on the board since 1997 and he also has served as President from 2001 to 2003. He has chaired the Marketing, NGV, Damage Prevention, Budget, Convention, Education, and Website Committees.
Robert attended Louisiana State University and later completed studies in Drafting Technology at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. He also served 4 years as a reserve deputy for East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. He began his natural gas industry career in 1976 with Gulf States Utilities, now Entergy, and has held several positions during his 40 plus years with the two companies. As Engineering Supervisor for Gulf States Utilities, Robert participated on a statewide committee that created LA Act 927, the original Louisiana Underground Damage Prevention Law. Robert is also a member of the LA One Call and the LA Clean Fuels Boards.
Robert remains active in the growth and development of the LGA to meet the needs of its members.
