Phil Wiegers

Phil's involvement with the LGA began in the early 1990's when he was a territory manager for Mueller Co. He has since been involved with the organization in various capacities. He has been a member of the Associate's Committee, the Convention Committee and was the Chairman of the Education Committee until recently. He has been a member of the LGA's Board of Directors since 2008. Phil's long-standing involvement in the natural gas industry includes participation with the Texas Gas Association, and he also served on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Gas Association from 2004 – 2009 where he was Supplier Vice President.

Phil attended Eastern Illinois University and Letourneau University. In May 2001, he incorporated EGW Utilities where he serves as President and CEO. EGW is a manufacturer's representative and distributor with a focus on the natural gas, electric, and waterworks industry. Prior to starting EGW, he served as Gas Utility Division Manager for Cummins Utility Supply in Fort Worth, TX. Before joining Cummins, he was a Regional Manager for Smith-Blair, Inc. of Texarkana, AR for three years. He managed a waterworks territory and specialized in gas product development. Phil was National Gas Products Manager for A.Y. McDonald Manufacturing Company of Dubuque, IA prior to joining Smith-Blair. In that role, he was responsible for both sales and product development. He began his career in the utility industry with Mueller Company of Decatur, IL in 1988. He started out as an inside salesperson and was promoted to Regional Manager in the Gas Division one year later. Phil has worked with utilities in more than thirty states, Mexico and Canada during his tenure in the gas and utility industry.

Phil and his wife, Liz, along with their daughters, Claire and Emma live in Flower Mound, Texas.
