LGA Hosts 12th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament in Jennings
The Louisiana Gas Association proudly hosted its 12th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on May 14, 2026, at the Jennings Golf Course in Jennings, Louisiana. Held each year to benefit the LGA College Scholarship Program, this year's tournament brought together 29 teams and approximately 118 players from across the state for a day of networking, fellowship, and friendly competition.
The tournament would not be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, players, volunteers, and industry partners who continue to make this event such a success year after year. We extend a sincere thank you to all of our sponsors for their generous support of the scholarship program.
A special thank you also goes to Boyd's Crawfish House & Grill for supplying the crawfish and to Atmos Energy for boiling them to perfection. The crawfish were a crowd favorite — perfectly seasoned and “sized like lobsters” according to many participants!
LGA is incredibly grateful for the volunteers and leadership team who worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly, including:
- Blaine Spell, Delta Utilities, Tournament Organizer
- President Nathan Gray, Enterprise Products
- 1st Vice President Chris Gray, Delta Utilities
- Past President Sue Guidry, Retired -Targa Resources
- Director Brandon Green, EGW
- Director Gregg Johnson, Targa Resources
- Director Terry Thibodaux, Gridsource and also the Scholarship Program Committee Chair
- Director Mark LeBlanc, Utility Solutions Supply, and also the organizer of teams and scoring
- Director Rob Mistretta, John H. Carter
- …and many others who helped make the day a success.
Tournament Results:
1st Place – Blood Hound Private Utility Locators
2nd Place – R360
3rd Place – Hornet Servicing Co.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was recognizing Blaine Spell for his years of dedication to the tournament and the LGA Scholarship Program. Blaine has organized the tournament since its establishment in 2015 and served on the LGA Board of Directors from 2011–2025.
To honor his hard work and commitment, LGA presented Blaine with a commemorative plaque and unveiled a new tournament banner officially renaming the event the:
LGA Blaine Spell Scholarship Golf Tournament
Thank you, Blaine, for your leadership, passion, and years of service to the Louisiana Gas Association and its scholarship program.
We are blessed to have such amazing supporters, sponsors, players, and volunteers who continue to make this event possible year after year. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
