August 11 is National 811 Day!
National 811 Day is observed each year on August 11. August 11 is a convenient way to remind professional excavators as well as homeowners of the importance of always calling 811 before digging because there are more than 20 million miles of underground utility lines in the United States. That's more than one football field in length for every man, woman and child. Unfortunately, every six minutes an underground utility line is damaged because someone did not call 811 before digging.Call before you dig to reduce pipeline damage!
